New Wave Finished!

It has been a glorious day today so I sat outside finishing off my binding. I love this stage of a quilt and find the final hand stitching so relaxing. So here it is...

Sitting casually in the evening sun, Oh Fransson's New Wave quilt made in yummy fabrics from my shop, Jessica Levitt's 'Timber' and
Kona Medium Gray.

The back is pieced with some of the offcuts.

And bound with the Timber stripe.
I have got a new supply of Timber coming in the next couple of days in the Fuschia colour way, what shall I make to show that off! It is fun having a shop!!!

New Wave

I had a really productive day yesterday and made a whole quilt top!!!

I have been wanting to make a New Wave quilt since first seeing the design by Oh Fransson and cut into some Timber and Medium Gray Kona from my shop. I know it is really to sell but I love it so! I am so pleased with it, so so pretty.

I have got some time today, so will get started on the quilting, my favourite bit! Must walk the dog first, so better get going!

Union Jack Crazy

Inspired by my friend Lynne of lilysquilts fame I have caught the union jack bug. Here is my first block using her fab tutorial.

I have used my liberty print fabric I bought at the V & A in homage to the wonderful quilt there by Janey Forgan.

Audrey and the new skirt

I have been making some clothes for the girls, Audrey and Freya have coordinating skirts and I have also made a pillowcase dress for Freya.  When asked to model them for my blog Freya stormed off in a tantrum while Audrey posed like a pro!!  Someone has been watching too many episodes of America's Next Top Model!

Laura Gunn Poppies Quilt Finished!

I finished this last week but we have hardly been here, we had a week at Center Parcs with the kids, back for two days and then down to my mum's in North London.  We got back a couple of hours ago so time to catch up on blogging, flickring and sewing!!

I am so in love with this quilt and fabric!!!  It is the first time I have done straight line quilting and I think it works really well with the fabric and disappearing 9 patch.

I finished off my scraps with a pieced back which I like almost as much as the front!

And of course the pesky binding which I had to order more of from the states as I didn't have enough!!  The Fat Quarter Shop were super speedy - so thank you to them!
